Dundas Street East Watermain Reconstruction April 2017 - October 2017
Cadillac Fairview received a notice from the City of Toronto regarding infrastructure improvements planned along Dundas Street East (from Yonge Street to Church Street). This construction project involves watermain replacement, road and sidewalk resurfacing, trench restoration and TTC intersection reconstruction. While a tentative start date of April 24, 2017 was provided, time lines are fluid and may change. Work is expected to take place 24/7 and conclude October 2017.
CF Toronto Eaton Centre is anticipating this project will affect vehicular flow around the complex, and the Property Management Team is working closely with stakeholders to review construction and traffic management plans, along with a mitigation strategy to help minimize impact to our clients and guests. We do not expect a direct impact to Parkade exits and entries however, vehicular traffic build up on main and secondary arteries surrounding the complex could lead to delays. Cadillac Fairview will monitor this closely once construction is underway.
Overview of construction work and traffic impact
Phase 1 - watermain replacement, road resurfacing & trench restoration (April - July)
Dundas Street East will be restricted to one way traffic in both directions from Yonge Street to Church Street.
Phase 2 - TTC intersection reconstruction (August - October)
One lane of westbound traffic will be maintained during this phase and the intersection between Dundas Street East and Victoria Street will be fully closed for a portion of the work.
NOTE – There will be periodic lane restrictions on Yonge Street during watermain, road and sidewalk work
